Have you ever used chia seeds? How do you use it?. For me I like to use chia seeds in my smoothies for extra added nutrition. It is a rich source of protein, omega-3, fatty acids, fiber, antioxidants and so much more. For those who don’t eat meat. Chia seeds should be a must in your diet with the high omega-3 fatty acids that it contains.
There are many benefits of having chia seeds in your diet. Today I will be sharing those amazing benefits with you:
Aids in weight loss Chia seeds are filled with all the nutrients and energy you need in a day. It does not have high calories which makes it even better. Therefore you can add about 1 tbsp of chia seeds to about 1 1/2 cups of warm water with 1 tbsp of lemon juice, stir it and drink it, the lemon is also high in vitamins and will help to boost your immune system as well as it contains polyphenols which also aids in weight loss .
Improve digestion With the high fiber content that the seeds have it maybe able to improve your digestion as well as your overall gut health.
Helps in reducing blood sugar Chia seeds can improve your insulin sensitivity as stabilize your blood sugar. After eating depending on what you ate you can have a spike in your blood sugar level, having chia seeds will help in reducing that spike. People who struggle with diabetes should incorporate these seeds more into their diet. You can add it in your smoothies, on top of your oatmeal, fruit bowl/fruit parfait and other amazing dishes.
Good for bone health Who knew that it was so much more powerful than flaxseeds. It is packed with nutrients like phosphorous, protein and calcium and we all know that calcium is good for our bones right?. Which is why it is good to add it to your smoothies after a workout.
Did you know that chia has 5 times more calcium than milk, in addition it has more iron than spinach and twice the potassium of a banana. Chia is overall a great product to add to your diet.
I never knew chia seeds had these specific benefits. I knew they were good for you, so I would by them here and there to put into smoothies.
