Many herbs can balance female hormones. You may wonder which one will work for me, how does it balance my hormones?. Hormones are actinics produced by the endocrine gland. When it comes to female hormones we always think of estrogen and progesterone. However, there are 3 other main hormones which include: prolactin, luteinizing hormone, and follicular stimulating hormone. They help to regulate your menstrual cycle, breastfeeding, fertility, pregnancy, and sexual desire.

I’ll be sharing with you 4 herbs that I have used for myself in helping with balancing my hormones.

RASPBERRY LEAF

Most will know raspberry tea to help with labour and delivery, but it is also great to balance female hormones and helps with menstrual cramps. It is used to reduce heavy periods which are usually caused by hormone imbalance. Using this tea will help in stabilizing your iron levels, making your flow less heavy. Another way in which raspberry tea helps is by reducing nausea during your cycle. It helps because it contains ellagic acid and flavonoids which are anti-inflammatory compounds. Reducing inflammation helps in placing a beneficial effect on nausea. Start drinking the tea a week before your cycle should begin.

MACA ROOT

Maca tea is mostly known for increasing fertility and increasing sexual function in both males and females. However, it is also good to balance female hormones. It helps in reducing PMS, cramping, breast pain, and mood swings. Maca root has a variety of amino acids which are known as building blocks of hormones.
